I am new to trading stocks which online brokerage firm would be the cheapest and best to start with?

I only want to start out with 200-500 what do you reccommend

Depends on which market you want to trade If it’s the US, Zecco only charge US$4.50 per trade for upto 25 trades per month. If it’s the UK – for such a small amount you might want to consider using a spreadbetting account instead of actually trading the shares, TD Waterhouse will charge you about £10 per trade for example if you actually buy the shares, IG Index only charge from 0.1% commission as a spread bet.

Do your research and paper trade to start with using a dummy account whatever you decide to do

    I’m also new to investing and havn’t signed up to any online brokers but have heard that Scottrade is the best. Check out there site it’s the one i’m going to use.

    Like the person above me said Zecco…also there is one called Sogotrade. But I didn’t open my account with either of these because they don’t seem well-known and established. Also, I heard that it takes awhile for Sogotrade to give you the money back when you request it. Also, there is only customer service on the phone, and they only have one office which is in NYC.
